In January of 2013, our family began our own adoption journey. Like many other families, we were excited and also overwhelmed by the process. We began to pray about what God would have us do and he clearly responded by telling us to use what we knew to help. Soon after, we contacted Heart For the Fatherless and began attending meetings. We learned they needed help with fundraising events, something we had a bit of experience with. Over the last several years my family has helped to organize and put on several weddings for family and friends and organized lots of large parties as well as the Harvest Carnival for our church in addition to helping regularly with PTO functions when our girls were in public school.

 

After further prayer and God providing an opportunity to speak at an orphan prayer night, which, at the time, I did not realize he would use to confirm what he was asking us to do in regards to helping others fundraise, we had an answer. Needless to say, that night, God confirmed that we needed to sign on with Heart for the Fatherless and so Alongside Fundraising was born!

 

Our ministry’s purpose is to help other local families with their adoption fundraising efforts by creating, organizing, and running family friendly events in which we work hand in hand with sponsored families to create a successful outcome. As God continues to break our heart for the orphan daily, we are excited to have the opportunity to get to know other adopting families in the area and aid in their efforts to bring home their children from around the world!
